December Moodboard
Here we are… the very last moodboard of the year. 2018 really seemed to fly by, and I’m ready to welcome a new year… but before I do, here’s a unique color I’m digging this December! Any guesses? I’m really being pulled in a more traditional direction for our new house– or maybe a better way to describe the vibe I’m envisioning is traditional / classic meets modern? Regardless- I’m loving warm, rich tones this winter. Click through to see my finds!
I’m really attracted to warm leather and wood tones this time of year. That’s something super cozy, inviting, and textural that makes this palette feel timeless. For the sake of the December moodboard, I’ve named the hues in this range “warm ember neutrals”…
01: pendant light // 02: wingback bed // 03: oil portrait of a woman // 04: teakwood & tobacco soy candle // 05: leather framed round mirror // 06: amber waves art // 07: velvet cushion cover // 08: glass pedestal bowl // 09: burl dining table // 10: faux fur seat cushion // 11: glass soap dispenser // 12: dune pitcher // 13: camel suede swivel chair // 14: velvet cushion cover
One of my designer friends just bought that gorgeous burl dining table (#9)- and it is MAGICAL in person. I ordered the pillow (#7) and the candle (#4) for our new place, but I’m waiting to pull the trigger on larger items. If I wasn’t on a spending freeze, I’d snatch up that oil portrait in a heartbeat! It comes framed and is so affordable- please someone buy it for me. Haha! This is honestly one of my favorite moodboard roundups to date- dare I say, it might even be my best moodboard work yet?
The above image has a Kelly Wearstler vibe to me. I love how the color was integrated into the wall treatment. I haven’t seen anything like that before and was very intrigued! One of my goals with our new house is to push my creative boundaries and think outside the box. This room also strangely reminded me of the Proper Hotel I stayed at in October.
Do you guys want to see more monthly moodboards in 2019 or are you over this series? It’s honestly one of my favorites to put together! I love curating unique monochromatic collections and scouring the internet for fresh inspiration- it feels like I get to do something artsy and out of the ordinary compared to my day-to-day design & blog tasks. Let me know what you think or feel free to make suggestions for a new series, if you’d like me to switch it up. I hope everyone is having a great week! xo
