I’ll start by saying this post is NOT sponsored. It was actually a frequently requested topic after I shared some floral arrangements on Instagram awhile back. As promised, I created a tutorial for assembling inexpensive, easy, floral arrangements- all using stems & blooms from Trader Joe’s. It’s no secret I’m a big fan of TJ’s… that’s just where I typically grocery shop. I’ve posted about grocery hauls, holiday charcuterie boards using their products, but most often- flowers & greenery. Click through for my tips, a fun video, and the arrangements that were a result of my latest Trader Joe’s floral haul! If you don’t have access to a Trader Joe’s- these steps will also work with any grocery store blooms.
Obviously the arrangement, pictured above and below, didn’t come from the store looking like this. However, it only took me 5 – 10 minutes to assemble, and it cost less than $10.
Last week I ventured to Trader Joe’s and this is what the flower section looked like. It typically changes each month, depending on what’s in season.
While I was there, I chatted with an employee for the purpose of this post, and learned a few fun facts… 1.) my local TJ’s puts out fresh flowers every other day, 2.) you can ask which days / time the flowers are stocked, and 3.) for blooms in high demand (ahem- peony season), you can call ahead to see exactly when they’re arriving at the store and even put some on hold if you’re lucky.
I came home with this big bag of stems…
I always start by emptying everything into the sink, then put together multiple arrangements simultaneously.
The entire haul was $25 and I ended up with 4(!) different arrangements I styled throughout my home. Check out the video below to see how I did it..
I like to keep fresh flowers and greenery in my house year round. There’s just something about them that makes me smile, but the holiday season is especially the perfect time to add arrangements to your space!
You really don’t have to spend an arm and a leg for pretty florals, and it’s easy to get in the habit of picking up blooms while grocery shopping.
The soft blush, rose arrangement featured in the video is currently living in my home office. It’s fits perfectly on the side table… if you’re in need of a plant pedestal or tiny accent table to feature your blooms, check out this giant roundup of my favorites!
Moving into the laundry room, I like to keep fresh greenery in a vase. It’s the ideal spot for it because the laundry room doesn’t get any natural sunlight. Since it’s darker, I don’t really have the option to keep a plant there. I tried a fern for the room reveal, but it didn’t last long.
I’ve found that greenery, specifically Israeli Ruscus, will keep for months. Yes- you read that right! The pictured bundle is going on 3 months old. I just swap the water every 3 – 4 weeks. It’s very low maintenance and costs $3.99 at Trader Joe’s.
I recently made some updates to the guest room in preparation for Thanksgiving visitors, so I thought I might as well add some fresh flowers to that room as well. Bud vases are very easy to style and I love the way the one below mimics the piping on the lamp shade.
Hopefully this post was helpful. Let me know if you have any questions or tips to add in the comments below. I like to keep things simple. I hope everyone has a great week- if you end up at Trader Joe’s or the grocery store, you might as well pick up some flowers!

November 12, 2018 at 6:23 amI love TJ’s for flowers! Recently my sister had surgery, so two friends and I wanted to get her flowers. Instead of ordering flowers for delivery, I hit up TJ’s with my $50 budget. The bouquet was HUGE and so gorgeous! I pretty much treat myself to flowers everything I grocery shop, trying to spend $5-10. To me, it’s a little luxury that makes me happy for a week, longer if I snag some mums.
PS: I beat Peggi! She must not be working today/sleeping in, re: holiday. :)

November 12, 2018 at 9:24 am#1- That is super sweet (and smart) of you! I hope your sister is feeling better and recovering nicely. #2- I’m also in the habit of picking up a $5 – $10 bundle each time I grocery shop. #3- Where is Peggi? Haha!! I love that you two show up here and comment everyday. Your words seriously make my day and keeping me going. All of the hard work on content is worth it when I feel like friends are reading it :) so THANK YOU! xox
