October Moodboard

October Moodboard : Midnight Blue - roomfortuesday.com Did you notice I accidentally skipped last month’s moodboard? It’s probably the first time in two years- or since I started the series, that I forgot to do one. Whoops! Obviously September was super busy. I’ve had a lot going on, but these posts are actually really therapeutic for me and I enjoy putting them together. Compiling October’s moodboard made me really happy and this month I’m into a moody color- midnight blue! It’s dark, sophisticated, can be used in moderation, or in large amounts for a serious statement. Click through to see what has been inspiring me lately and to shop my recent finds.

October Moodboard : Midnight Blue - roomfortuesday.com Every time I stumble across that gorgeous blue fireplace and built-ins being painted, I re-pin it. It’s one of my most coveted shades of blue! I dubbed this moodboard “midnight” blue, because it’s less saturated and deeper than a typical, preppy navy. It feels rich, neutral, has a ton of depth, and can pretty much go with any aesthetic. It was definitely inspired by the image shown above.

01: upholstered bed // 02: cushion cover // 03: bath mat // 04: pleated drapery // 05: fabric // 06: channel tufted bedding // 07: velvet swivel chair // 08: nightstand // 09: fringe throw

I’d obviously take anything from the roundup above, but I’m specifically into that gorgeous velvet swivel chair (#7), the channel tufted bedding (#6), and the pinch pleated drapery (#4). I feel like you could use any of those three items if you aren’t fully ready to commit, but you still want to make a BIG statement. It’s the perfect middle ground…. drapery, bedding, and a stunning accent chair. That’s all you really need.

October Moodboard : Midnight Blue - roomfortuesday.com Are you guys also feeling moody hues as we’re making our way into the fall season? I certainly am. I’m hopping a flight as we speak to California for my design retreat, so be sure to follow along on Instagram! Don’t worry… I have a full week of blog posts scheduled and Jacqueline is filling in for me later in the week with an awesome DIY. Stay tuned.

It’s crazy that you’ve created your mood board based on ‘midnight blue’. My husband just ordered me a new ‘midnight blue’ duvet and shams from West Elm!!!

Question… I’m having to repaint my nightstands, and I love the way black and midnight blue look together. Would it be too crazy to paint my nightstands semi-gloss black?
