Roundup : Classic French Bistro Chairs

Roundup : Classic French Bistro Chairs - roomfortuesday.comHi, everyone! How is your week going so far? One of my friends asked if I had any recommendations for classic french bistro chairs and it led me down a rabbit hole of saving favorites. I figured I’d share all of the beauties I pulled together for her. Bistro chairs are great for exterior areas, the patio, and they’re also lovely indoors- think a breakfast nook or banquette seating. Click through for a quick post filled with my current favorite timeless options- the majority of these are outdoor rated, but can also be used indoors for added durability…

Roundup : Classic French Bistro Chairs - roomfortuesday.comI’ll jump right in with the ones I compiled! The majority of these chairs are sold as a pair- so keep in mind, the price is for a set of two. These classic options are the ones I gravitate toward…

Obviously, I own #8- as seen on our bedroom balcony in the first photo of the post. They’re really wonderful and have held up beautifully! We leave them outside full time. This will be our third or fourth year using them. I highly recommend! I just give them a spray with our power washer each season for cleaning.

If you’re curious about using bistro chairs indoors, I wanted to include a couple examples for you… a bight dining option, as well as a moody banquette example below.

I love the character and French feel bistro chairs add to a space. I’m looking forward to having pastries and coffee outside this spring & summer! I’m itching to put our patio and balcony back together soon.

Roundup : Classic French Bistro Chairs - roomfortuesday.comI hope everyone has a great day! I’m actually taking things slow this week, which this short post may have indicated… I ended up in the hospital on Monday for an allergic reaction to medication, so I’m trying to take it easy and focus on my health over here. Let me know what other interior or decor roundups would be helpful for you. I’m happy to search and create more of these types of posts for blog friends & readers! In other news, Emmett started demo on our entryway and I’ve got a juicy post on that coming up. I’ll share some videos on IG stories soon, too. In the meantime, I started a highlight bubble here. I’m behind on comments, emails, messages, and blog things, but I promise to get to them soon!

  1. Good morning! Back in the hospital?! Nooooo. I’m so sorry!! Allergic reactions are not-funny scary. Definitely take it easy! We know you’ll be here when you’re feeling better.
As for your roundup, a stunning selection of a classic! They truly are all so beautiful it’s tough to choose a favorite. Of course, I love the examples (like yours!) that sport a colorful pattern. Bonus points to #9 for having dots, a chevron and stripes! But, #17 in RED? The clear winner in my book. I also appreciate the subtle shape variations. I’m partial to arms, both the full version like #2 and the more gently enveloping style like 5, 8, 10 and 14. Honestly, you couldn’t go wrong with any of these. Both indoor dining areas you’ve shown are fab! That cane-wrapped pedestal table though? Hello, gorgeous! Yes to these fun roundups you compile for friends! Even when I’m not in the market for an item, considering options is fun! I’m excited to see your entry demo begin! This space feels like it’s going to offer some novel challenges-removing a doorway, laying cabochon tile, and stairs. I’m making popcorn over here. Have a restful and healing Wednesday, Sarah. 💜

    1. Hi Peggi! I know… such a bummer! It has been a whirlwind of a week, but I’m doing my best to rest and listen to my body. I love a good bistro chair moment. Aren’t those red ones gorgeous?! That cane wrapped pedestal table caught my attention, too. What a beauty! The entryway is coming right along. It’s a mess (demo is well underway) and I’m excited for progress- even if it’s dusty. Ha! I hope you’re having a good week, my friend! xo

  2. Oh no Sarah, sounds like you are having another tough week. Feel better friend, taking it easy this week sounds like an excellent plan.
This post is so timely as I’ve had those Chairish bistro chairs on my mind since last week’. I’ve been scouring Wayfair for something similar, and I recognize quite a few in this post :)
I love the set on your balcony and actually referred to that post this past Monday for inspiration, and I ordered the marble table from World Market. It will actually work perfectly on our lanai here as our patio is on the small side.
And I ordered 2 bistro style chairs with more of a coastal vibe for the table. I’m excited to have an eating space outside here. Exciting! Still giving the cottage some thought but I like #12 and #13. I think either one would work beautifully. I’m planning on painting the cottage exterior black and the deck is white cedar so either navy/white or black/white chairs. What do you think? I have to order from either Wayfair or Amazon as they are the only two companies that will deliver to our area up there. At least that’s what was indicated on the websites. I guess I’ll find out when I place an order. Ha!
I’m super thrilled for the start on your entryway. I know it’s going to be so beautiful and make for the best entrance to your home. The stunning tiles you ordered, and the staircase plans sound dreamy. Amazing! So happy for you, I’m sure Emmett will implement/install to perfection, as always. Take it easy Sarah and sending virtual hugs, and positive healing vibes your way! Rest up sweet friend ❤

    1. It has definitely been a week. Ha! I’m hanging in there though. Your comment about the bistro chairs last week also had me thinking about them! Let me know how you like the World Market table- it’s one of my favorites. I’d love to see a photo of your little linai bistro setup- it sounds like it’s going to be dreamy :) I love your idea of painting the cottage dark with cedar and going neutral / high contrast. I think that would be beautiful! We’re excited to get going on the entryway. Emmett is already making good progress and I’m eager to share an update once we get a little further. Hope you’re having a great week! xo

  3. Sarah, so sorry to read you had an allergic reaction. So scary! Hope you are resting and feeling better.
I love chairs! Maybe it’s the legs, arms or the style. Your bistro chair roundup has so many good options. With this particular chair, I gravitate toward the natural wicker weave color & style for indoors. I think I do for outside as well. Wow, the Serena & Lily bistro table with he wicker base! Hubba hubba! My favorites are #2,10, 15, & 18.
Definitely off topic but had to ask. Have you seen the show, The Gilded Age? Just finished the first season on HBO and loved it. I thought of you because it is a really good show with lots of set design and beautiful clothing!
    Have a good day!

    1. Thanks, Danna! I’m taking it one day at a time and am hoping to feel more like myself soon :) Bistro chairs are my favorite! They always feel timeless to me. I love The Gilded Age! The interiors and outfits are just the best. Did you know that the actress that plays Marian is Meryl Streep’s daughter? The set design is amazing! I still have it on my list to email you- so sorry it’s taking me so long… it has been a rough week over here. Excited to start planning! Hope you’re having a lovely week, friend! xo

  4. Hello friends! We are safely back from Disneyland and it seems I’ve some catching up to do. Sarah I’m so sorry to hear that you were back in the hospital; allergic reactions can be scary. I hope for your sake it clears up soon and that you’re feeling better each day. Rest up friend! As for these adorable bistro chairs, I love seeing these in both an indoor and outdoor setting. Your balcony set is a favorite; this year I’ll finally be adding a table to my balcony and there are two from world market in the running. Bistro chairs have definitely been on my mind; more for what will be our breakfast nook. In the indoor application I prefer the more subtle vibes of #1, 2, 3 and 10. But you know I can’t resist the charm of something like #5, 10 and 13! The red iteration of #17 is 😍😍. I’ve never seen that color. Thank you for sharing how yours have held up, and how you clean them! I’ve long wondered if they stood the time test. This is a gorgeous roundup. I’m excited to hear that the entry project is underway, and can’t wait to follow along. I’ll be checking out your highlights to catch up. Have a restful day Sarah. I’ll be thinking of you; sending a virtual hug and all the healing vibes! Xoxo

    1. Hi Lauren! I’m so glad to hear you had a fantastic vacation at Disney! I’ve been taking things slow over here and am hoping to start feeling better soon… just trying to rest and let my body do its thing. I love your idea of including bistro chairs at your breakfast nook- that’s exactly how I’d envision using them indoors. Bonus points for their added durability and ease of cleaning! Ours still look brand new and it doesn’t get easier than power washing them. Thanks for the hug and healing vibes. I hope you’re settling back into your routine post Disney and are having a great week!

  5. I sure hope you are feeling better soon. Love all the bistro chairs, great job.
