Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comEvery December, I share a few yearly recaps and intentions… favorite things from the past year, how our home has changed over the course of the year, goals for the year ahead, your favorite posts, etc. First up, I’m sharing YOUR favorite home items I shared throughout 2020- based on your purchases. I did a deep dive into my analytics, which- let’s be real… I never do because it’s just not my thing (looking at graphs and charts- clearly I’m the least strategic business owner), but it’s always fun and surprising to see what everyone was into. I like knowing some of my favorite things in our home, ended up in yours as well. It makes me happy to know some of these home items are bringing you joy and beauty, too. Click through to see the top 10 home items I shared in 2020… some of them surprised me!

#1 // Door Hardware

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comThis will be the door hardware throughout our entire home, once it’s finished and all of the interior doors have been traded out. We also have the matching set for our entryway, if you’re looking for an exterior combination. The shape and finish is so beautiful, and it’s HEAVY hardware- definitely high quality.

#2 // Woven Roman Shade

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comThese budget friendly, woven roman shades make our living room windows look more custom and a bit more layered and casual alongside our custom drapery. They’re one of my favorite textural window treatments! I’m glad you like them, too.

#3 // Round Clawfoot Dish

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comThis was the only item on the top 10 list that is out-of-stock… I’m sorry! The good news is this: I ordered a bunch of these for the Tuesday Made shop. The bad news? They were supposed to arrive in November, but have since been delayed to January. Hopefully I’ll have them in my possession soon, and can make your clawfoot candle pedestal dreams come true. It’s really a beautiful styling detail!

#4 // Outdoor Dining Table

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comOur outdoor dining table is old at this point, but I still love it just as much as I did the day I bought it. It’s timeless, classic, and durable- it has stayed outside for almost five consecutive snowy Utah winters now and is still in perfect condition!

#5 // Kitchen Backsplash Tile

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comI installed every single piece of our kitchen backsplash tile while Emmett was at work one day. I love the color (which is GRAY, not white), the handmade texture, and the elongated shape. This tile has been popular for quite some time now, and I don’t anticipate that to fade anytime soon- it’s a beautiful classic option. I’m not at all surprised you all loved and purchased it as well.

#6 // Swivel Chairs

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comOur swivel chairs were apart of our One Room Challenge space… the formal living room. I really enjoy having a swivel chair in this room because I can either turn toward the sofa to have a conversation, or toward the fireplace for warmth. They’re really super functional and fit the budget.

#7 // Dog Bed

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comThis dog bed was a bit of an impulse purchase. I wasn’t really looking for one at the time, but this one stopped me mid scroll and I knew our dogs would love it. The aesthetic is great, the company who makes it is incredible, and our boys really do lounge here voluntarily. It’s their preferred place to snuggle and nap, unlike other beds.

#8 // Ceiling Fan

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comThis one surprised me! I know not everyone is a fan of ceiling fans (haha)! As a designer, I’ll be the first to admit, it’s not my all-time favorite aesthetic, but in our bedroom- functionality comes first. Emmett & I have to sleep with a fan on, and this one is minimal, modern, and blends nicely into the ceiling. I’m glad some of you were able to swap your fan or add this fan… if you’re going to install one, it might as well be a strategic design move.

#9 // Shower Dispenser Bottles

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comI had no idea our shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers would be SO popular. I like that they’re cohesive, visually pleasing, and fit nicely into our shower niche in the guest bathroom. I’m happy you all like beautiful organization as much as I do- even in the shower.

#10 // Decorative Beams

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comMost people are surprised to learn that our beams are decorative- not architectural. If you’re new to the blog or are just beginning to follow along- these easily and instantly added character to our living room. You can purchase them, as well as the brackets! I was really excited to learn many of you tackled this project in 2020 and added beams to your own home- that is super cool.

Just for fun- I found these interesting too! The top beauty items I recommended this year. You all have great taste. Hah!

  1. Deodorant // My favorite deodorant… it smells so nice and actually works.
  2. Byredo Perfume // My number one perfume! I LOVE this fragrance.
  3. Hydrating Lip Color // The only lip color I ever wear… it feels like chapstick and the colors are so pretty.
  4. Davines Hair Mask // My go-to hair mask that I use in place of conditioner. This has turned my hair around!
  5. Jo Malone Perfume // My number two perfume, when I want to mix things up.

Your Favorite Home Items I Shared in 2020 - roomfortuesday.comWell- that was pretty fun to look back and see what everyone liked! Are you surprised by anything? Did you snag any of these items this year? I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead. I have a busy one, but am looking forward to it. We’re creeping closer to Christmas. All good things!

  1. Good morning! I kind of think analytics would be fascinating, but, as a teacher, I also understand how it can feel defeating and confounding. (test scores☹️) Connection and inspiration can’t be measured! Maybe it’s different for business? Regardless, these top 10 don’t surprise me. They are all classic, beautiful and practical!
Our snow finally came, so it officially looks like Christmas! I can’t say I’m feeling especially festive, but I’m focusing on the moments. Here’s to a productive week!💜💪

    1. My thoughts exactly. Unfortunately, I fall into the latter category. As a creative, they often make me feel defeated. Emmett, on the other hand, is all about the graphs, charts, and numbers. Ha! I agree with you- connection and inspiration is immeasurable. I’m so happy you got snow and Jason experiences his first play in the fluffy stuff. Crosby did the same thing… he bulldozed his face around in it. Haha! I could watch dogs play in the snow all day. Unfortunately, we had a trip to the emergency vet today. Luckily, Cash will be fine and a pretty gnarly cut. Whew! Here’s to a good, productive week :) xo

      1. I saw your Cash story! Poor guy.☹️ Nothing like an emergency trip to the vet to get your heart racing! I’m glad he’s ok.💜

        1. Oh gosh, I know. Our dogs give me anxiety. Ha! We had a rough night, but luckily Cash will be fine. He’s insisting I carry him everywhere and won’t walk with his bandages on. He just sits there and whines. Pitiful pup! Jeez.

  2. I bought the exterior door knobs you referred to and they are absolutely gorgeous. I am dying to buy the indoor ones when we replace our interior doors soon but that might be out of our price range, sadly.

    1. I’m so happy you love them, Amy! They’re my favorite and so beautiful in person :)

  3. These don’t surprise me at all…well, maybe the ceiling fan. But let’s face it, it’s a good one! All of these are items I’ve saved to my wish list or in my notes for various areas of our home. The one that gets me every time is that claw foot pedestal-so awesome that you’ll have some of those in the shop! It was a somewhat relaxing weekend. We knocked a few annoying items off the to-do list that we’ve been putting off: winterizing the backyard, re-caulking our kitchen sink, repairing a few leaky faucets…you know, the ultra boring stuff. It’s feeling like winter (super super cold for out here), but so far just scattered showers, if you can even call them that. I didn’t get to the baking but we have a short school week so I’ll try to find some time to have fun in the kitchen! Have a happy (busy) week!! I can’t believe we’re less than two weeks from Christmas.😳

    1. Haha, right?! The ceiling fan… who knew! I’m hoping the pedestals arrive sooner rather than later. So glad you had a relaxing weekend- those are the best :) Amazing job on your to-do list! It always feels good crossing those type of items off. I hate those tasks but always feel happy once they’re finished for good. We had a pretty chill weekend, too- which was much needed! We’re finally getting snow and I’m excited to hear winter made its debut at your house as well. Just in time! Happy short school week :)
